This way you wouldn’t even have to pick up normal gems at all, cause your pets would do it for you which would make speed farming even more efficient (because the legendary power from Avarice Band would work with pets pick up radius). I would also add 1 more 25 yard radius pick up radius affix to Avarice Band too and make the legendary power work together with the pets pick up radius, so picking up gold would also increase the pick up radius for pets. Nothing bad could happen if you approach The Mimic will collect gold sitting on the ground for the player, even at the edge of the screen.
Why is it quivering Just a harmless chest. It drops from Menagerist Treasure Goblins. Pets should also pick up infernal machines and gems (emerals, topaz etc.). The Mimic is a non-combat pet in Diablo III, added in patch 2.4.1. I know that T16 is pretty “easy”, but still… This way you don’t have to sacrifice any damage in order to use avarice band. Crafting mats added to the “useful list” and pets with at least 25 yard pick up radius, so you are not forced to use avarice band just to pick up mats easier.
I just think there is a better way than adding to the pets list of things to collect. I do agree with you, though, all mats should have the option to be auto-looted. Pets are erratic and should remain mostly cosmetic. I would much rather allow other items to be taken off the insta-salvage list and be added to the “that might be useful list”.
It makes items like Avarice Band actually have some meaning. I would still rather have auto-loot and pick-up radius on the character.
